Four Libby High cross country runners logged personal bests at the Mountain West Classic in Missoula on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Coach Rodd Zeiler said the University Golf Course is a “very tough course,” and that his four runners had good positions throughout the race.

He noted that sophomore Lauren Thorstenson broke the 21-minute mark with a time of 20:25.

Breaking the 20-minute mark is “really tough for girls,” but that is Thorstenson’s next goal.

Other LHS times from last week include: Michael Diller, 18:58, John Cheroske, 21:04, and Mikalyn Zeiler, 23:05.

Zeiler said his team is battling some injuries, but should field a full squad of five runners for its meet at Whitefish on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Libby also competed at Thompson Falls on Thursday, Sept. 29.
