State A golf: Whitefish girls, Polson boys sitting second after 18 holes

HAMILTON — The Whitefish girls and Polson boys are sitting in second place after Friday’s opening 18 holes at the Class A state golf tournament at Hamilton Golf Club.

Sidney’s girls lead with a 369 score with Whitefish behind at 386.

Hamilton’s boys posted a 312 total to 329 for Polson.

Individually, Kaelyn Volk of Sidney, 82, and Max Toenjes of Hamilton, 69, had the best individual rounds for the day.

The Whitefish girls had two players crack the top 10 — Hayley Hileman is eighth with her 89 and Gracie Young tied for ninth with a 92.

The Polson boys have three in the top 10 — Carson McDaniel is tied for fourth with a 79 and Matt Hobbs and Trey Kelley are tied for 10th with 81s.

The tournament ends today.
