Carver, Raynor fuel Cardinal sweep

POST FALLS — Megan Carver went 2 for 4 with four runs batted in and a run scored for North Idaho College in an 11-3 win over the Columbia Basin Hawks in the first game of a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region doubleheader at Post Falls High on Friday.
Kalyna Korok, Ana Raynor and Jamie Yurick scored two runs each for NIC, which put the opener away with six runs in the sixth inning.
In the second game, Raynor hit a two-run double in the second inning and a two-run home run in the third inning to lead the Cardinals to a 14-6 win.
Kennedy Anderson finished the second game with three RBIs for NIC (11-3, 5-1 NWAC), which faces Walla Walla in a doubleheader today at noon at Post Falls High.
Columbia Basin is 4-13, 2-8.
