Loggers split matches over weekend

The Loggers suffered a loss last Thursday when they visited the Polson Pirates. Libby’s tennis team came home with a 0-7 defeat.

In singles, Cody Wood lost in two sets of 2-6 and 5-7.

Arnold Rayson lost his singles match against Pirate Kaiden Forman-Webster 1-6, 1-6.

Despite a 1-6 loss in Virgil Sadewasser’s first set against Polson’s Johnny Moore, Sadewasser came back with an equal force, hitting Moore with a 6-1 win. The two went into a 10-point tiebreaker. Despite a close match, Moore was able to break the tie with 11-9.

Logger Dameon Kelch managed to tail his opponent’s score, but lost 3-6, 4-6.

In doubles, Pirates Matt Sitter and Cadis Chowning hit their way to a win against Loggers Erik Lauer and Braydan Thom, sending them home with a 4-6, 3-6 defeat.

Zach Carter and Sebastian Sanders managed two points against their opponents, but were defeated 2-6, 0-6.

With a final score of 1-6, 0-6, Logger-duo Dameon Kelch and Devin Payne were handed a defeat from Pirates Kabe Forman-Webster and Sam Schultz.

AT RONAN, the Libby girls and boys teams came home with wins. The Logger boys tennis defeated Ronan with a 5-1 victory, and the Lady Loggers came in with a 6-0.

In singles, Cody Wood was defeated 8-10 against Bailey Moss.

Rayson Arnold came in with a win against Colman Taylor 10-7.

Virgil Sadewasser was defeated 2-8 against Bailey Moss.

Devin Payne was also defeated 0-10 against Colman Taylor.

In doubles, Erik Lauer, Braydan Thom defeated Thomas Yellowbird and Garrett Anderson in 10-3.

Sebastian Sanders and Zack Carter also took a win in doubles against Thomas Yellowbird and Garrett Anderson 9-5.

On the girl’s singles side, Lady Logger Mehki Sykes delivered a 10-0 game against Maddy Sevier.

Isabelle Martineau also walked away with a 10-0 victory over Morgan Brooks.

Dora Antunes was defeated by Maddy Seiver 8-10.

Savannah Huni was also defeated by Morgan Brooks in 1-10.

In doubles on the girl’s side, Jessika Jones and Marissa Wood defeated Breanna Turpin and Julia Matkovich 10-5.

Morgan Snyder and Laurynn Lauer also defeated Breanna Turpin and Julia Matkovich in 4-3.

The Saturday tennis match between Libby and Troy was canceled.
