Whitefish sweeps Columbia Falls at FVCC

Whitefish tennis swept a dual with Columbia Falls on Thursday at the Flathead Valley Community College tennis courts.
The Bulldogs boys rolled Columbia Falls 6-1 in the match.
Whitefish’s Eric Holdhusen dominated No. 1 singles, dropping just game in his match, and Ethan Pothoff had a clean 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2.
Zach Brandt also got quick victory at No. 3 singles and the Whitefish boys swept doubles play.
Columbia Falls’ Garrett Caffrey was the lone Wildcat to get on the board in the dual, recovering from a slow second set to win 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.
The Whitefish girls played things much closer, edging out a 4-3 dual win.
The Bulldogs won at No. 2 and No. 4 singles and took two the top two doubles matches to win the meet.
In the match of the day, Columbia Falls Molly Schmit won a marathon at No. 1 singles against Hannah Madsen, legging out a 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 victory that took more than three hours to complete.
