Suspect killer remains on the loose

SANDPOINT — A suspected killer remained on the loose on Friday.

Bonner County Prosecutor Louis Marshall said law enforcement is still seeking Nathan Lane Utt, who is suspected of killing a Bonner County woman on Wednesday.

Utt, 41, is a Caucasian male who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall. He weighs approximately 180 pounds.

Utt may be wearing a blue jacket or a green trenchcoat who is known to carry a backpack.

Utt is described as a transient who frequents local soup kitchens, food banks and other charitable organizations.

Bonner County sheriff’s officials said Utt is considered armed and dangerous. Those who encounter him are urged to use caution.

Sheriff’s officials identified the murder victim as Shirley Ann Ramey, 78.
