Fundraiser generates more than $16K for Help Every Little Paw

COEUR d'ALENE — More than $16,400 was raised during last month's sold-out and fifth annual Bartender’s Ball fundraiser at The Plaza Shops for the nonprofit HELP (Help Every Little Paw).

The amount broke last year's record of $15,847.

"It's going to be hard to beat (this year's amount)," said Holly Hansen, who organized the event with Karen Hansen.

The pet food drive raised more than 1,460 pounds for local pets in need.

Twelve bars and six caterers were featured at the fundraiser, offering specialty drinks and appetizers. There were also silent and live auctions.

This year's winners included:

Judge’s Choice

Bar —1, 315 Martini and Tapa; 2, Capone's; 3, Beverly’s.

Caterer — 1, Junior’s BBQ; 2, Kaiju; 3, Fire.

People's Choice

Bar — 1, 315 Martini and Tapa; 2, Rusty's; 3, Kaiju.

Caterer — 1, Kaiju; 2, Junior's BBQ; 3, Fire.

This was the second year the event was held at The Plaza Shops. Sponsors are being sought for the 2018 fundraiser.
