2 arrested for drugs in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — A man and woman were arrested in Moses Lake on Tuesday after they were reportedly caught selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.

On Tuesday, the Moses Lake Police Department reportedly received reports of drug deals taking place at McCosh Park. Patrol officers responded to the location and contacted Dante D. Scoby, 21, and Yurida B. Marmolejo, 20, in a vehicle, according to the MLPD on Wednesday.

Both Scoby and Marmolejo were taken into custody and their vehicle was impounded. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and police reportedly recovered methamphetamine, heroin, prescription narcotics, scales and packaging materials.

Scoby was booked into the Grant County Jail for possession of meth with intent to deliver and possession of heroin with intent to deliver. Included in the charges were school zone enhancements for selling illegal drugs within 1,000 feet of a school. Scoby was also charged with possession of a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles), possession of Oxycodone and possession of Suboxone.

Marmolejo was booked for possession of meth.
