LIBBY — Libby scored 26 runs in the first three innings of play before calling off the dogs in a dominant performance against Troy on Thursday afternoon.

The Loggers scored five runs in the first inning, eight in the second inning and 13 runs in the third inning to pile on the Trojans in the win. Troy put up a single run on two hits in the loss, notching six errors as a team.

Madisen Monigold and Jayden Winslow each went 4 for 5 at the plate to lead Libby. Monigold added a triple and two RBIs and teammate Khalyn Hageness was 3 for 4 from the plate with a double and three RBIs while picking up the win in the circle.

In total, 11 different Loggers batters recorded hits in the win.

Alyssa Lewis and Montana Rice were the only batters to pick up hits for Troy. Tristan Winebark earned an RBI on a walk in the second inning.

Rain postponed games elsewhere in the region, with Eureka’s game in Ronan pushed back to May 1.

Columbia Falls’ game at Frenchtown was pushed back to today in hopes the weather clears up overnight.
