Prep roundup: Othello succumbs to East Valley's bats

YAKIMA — The Othello pitching struggles continued in a 17-7 loss in six innings to CWAC leaders East Valley (11-1, 10-0 CWAC).
The Huskies (7-5, 5-5 CWAC) did show a display of power with six doubles in the game, but never did catch up.
A.J. Pruneda (two doubles) and Camron Valdez had three hits apiece (double) to lead the club at the plate. Abel Gomez, T.J. Martinez and Arcenio Martinez all had a multi-hit game, including a double each.

Ephrata boys win CWAC League match
SELAH — Sean Couture and John Rawley shot 81 and 82, respectively, to lead Ephrata to a run-away victory at the CWAC match at Yakima Elks Golf & Country Club in Selah.
The Tigers put together a 343 team score. Selah (363) and Quincy (366) were a distant second and third, respectively, on the par-71 course. Selah’s Dylan Apadaca was the medalist with 2-over par 73.
Ephrata remains in a three-way gridlock on top of the CWAC standings with Othello and East Valley. All three are 3-0, 2-0 in the CWAC. The Tigers play again on Thursday at the Palouse Ridge Invitational in Pullman.
