Ronan High School wrestling coach James Muir and Coach Ron Hanson have resigned from their posts as the head boys wrestling coach and girls basketball coach last week.
During the 2016-2017 campaign, Hanson led the Maidens’ basketball team to an undefeated regular season record, a district championship, a Divisional championship, and a Class-B state berth, in which Ronan lost back-to-back contests before being eliminated.
Hanson will be taking an administrative position at a Christian School in Oregon.
Muir led several Chiefs wrestlers to the Class-B state wrestling championship appearance, which includes coaching 132-pound state championship wrestler Noah Cheff.
Ronan athletic director Lucky Larson stated the school is currently in the process of actively searching to hire a new girls basketball coach and wrestling coach.
“The positions are currently advertised at this time, we are taking applications, and we will be conducting interviews,” Larson said.
The Chiefs retained boys’ basketball coach Mitchell Wassum for the 2017-2018 season.
