Vikings' Leonard wins shot put at Pasco invite

PASCO, Wash. — Coeur d’Alene High senior Grady Leonard won the boys shot put with a throw of 63 feet at the annual Pasco Invitational on Saturday.
Leonard was second in the discus, finishing with a mark of 169-9.
In the boys 400, Coeur d’Alene senior Zac Magee finished second in 49.12 seconds, followed by Post Falls senior Parker Walton in fourth in a 50.08 and Lake City senior Alex Ayers in fifth in 50.09. Post Falls sophomore Tyler Trengrove was fifth in the high jump with a personal best of 6 feet, 2 inches.
Lake City senior Jocie Osika tied with Delaney Warren of Mt. Spokane for the discus title at 130 feet, 10 inches. Osika finished second on criteria.
Lake City junior Emily Hernandez was third in the shot put with a mark of 39-9 1/4,

Kellogg boys win home invite
KELLOGG — Coeur d’Alene Charter senior Brooklyn Cunningham won in the 100-meter dash in 13.74 seconds, then ran winning legs in the school’s 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams to help the Panther girls finish second at the Kellogg Booster Invitational at Dale Hunt Track and Field.
Kellogg (boys) and Bonners Ferry (girls) won team titles in the meet, which featured rain, hail and heavy winds throughout the day.
Donavin Rottini won the boys shot put and discus for St. Maries, which finished third with 101 points.

Sandpoint wins title
at Post Falls tourney
POST FALLS — Sandpoint’s boys doubles team of Patrick Rockwell and Reilly Wolfe, as well as the girls team of Laney Search and Khloe Kyllonen finished runner-up to push the Bulldogs to the team title at the Post Falls Invitational.
Lexi Carlsen and Sarah Swider of Coeur d’Alene won the girls singles title and Brock Tanya and Kim Gunnerson won in mixed doubles for Coeur d’Alene, which finished third.
Participants competed in pool play during the morning to determine seeding for the single-elimination bracket play, with games played to nine points.
