Pauline Keller, 82
Our loving mother, Pauline Keller, peacefully passed away April 16, 2017, at Guardian Angel Homes in Post Falls, Idaho, where she has graciously been cared for by so many wonderful staff members and her family since 2015.
Pauline’s life began on Feb. 9, 1935, in Norman, Okla. Her parents were Glenn and Mable Mooneyham. She had two sisters and two brothers. Her family moved to Southern California when she was a young child where she attended school and eventually met the love of her life, Warren Keller. They married in December 1955 and their love for each other continued for 61 years. Together they raised five children in Orange County, Calif., until they moved to North Idaho in 1973.
Her passion to care for others motivated her to obtain a degree as a License Psychiatric Nurse. She was employed at Fairview State Hospital in California where she provided love and care for Special Needs children. She soon became attached to three sweet little boys, Keith, Robbie and Kevin. She could see that these boys would benefit from a home environment and one-on-one care. She and her husband, Warren, opened their home to these boys and became their foster family until they moved to Idaho a few years later.
Pauline’s love for children continued her entire life and they brought her great joy and always a big smile! After moving to Idaho, she continued to work as a nurse at Kootenai Medical Center and also at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. She later worked at ISC Systems Corporation in Liberty Lake, Wash., U.S. Bank in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and other various jobs.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years where she established very close friendships with many friends throughout her life. She lived her life devoted to God and her family. She will always be remembered for her gentleness, her beautiful smile and genuine laughter.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Keller of Hayden, and her children: daughter, Marsha Jacobs of Coeur d’Alene; son Doug and daughter-in-law, Monica Keller of Corona, Calif.; son Donald and daughter-in-law, Nina Conklin of Coeur d’Alene; daughter Debbie and son-in-law, Curtis Clark of Dalton Gardens; and son Warren Jr. (Kelly) and daughter-in-law, Caroline of Hayden. She also had 10 grandchildren: Dustin Clark, Brandon Clark, Raechelle (Clark) Hoki, Meagan Jacobs, Brian Keller, Tracy (Keller) Bremmer, Jason (Conklin) Robinson, Donald Conklin Jr., Elizabeth Conklin, Kelly Conklin, and their families. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren and Baby Hoki to be born in 2017, and three great-great-grandchildren and Baby Shapland to be born in 2017.
In lieu of flowers, the Keller family suggest donations be made in Pauline’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1042 W. Mill Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 or Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, with a reception to follow.
