MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man is facing charges after police reportedly found about 4 ounces of methamphetamine in his vehicle over the weekend.

In a joint effort between Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET) and the Mid-Columbia Interagency Narcotics Task Force (MINT), authorities made a number of undercover drug buys from Randall Gonzalez, 45, of Moses Lake, over the past couple of weeks.

The Washington State Patrol reportedly assisted INET and pulled Gonzalez over in his pickup truck near state Route 17 and Kittleson Road in Moses Lake. Gonzalez was arrested for investigation of possession of a firearm, as he is a convicted felon, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

A search warrant was obtained for Gonzalez’s truck and the vehicle was searched Saturday morning by INET members. A total of 114.3 grams, about 4 ounces of meth, was reportedly found in the vehicle. Gonzalez picked up a charge of possession of meth with intent to deliver for the discovery of the drug.

“For comparison, 4 ounces is just a little less than the weight of a deck of playing cards or a standard Major League Baseball which each weigh about 5 ounces,” stated the sheriff’s office in a release.

Gonzalez is lodged in the Grant County Jail.
