Garza, Freitas

and Flores earn employee awards

Lori Garza, Shayne Freitas and Alvin Flores are winners of Transtector Systems’ new quarterly employee recognition awards program. Garza earned the Leadership award, Freitas earned the Above and Beyond award and Flores won the Rock Solid award.

Garza won the Leadership award for developing new tools enabling a more efficient pipeline for key business workflows. Freitas won the Above and Beyond award for his consistent willingness to assist other co-workers and departments, as well as his drive to help the business succeed. Flores received the Rock Solid award for his willingness to do what is needed to help the business succeed and his efforts to build team camaraderie.

“Transtector Systems employee recognition program was launched this past quarter to recognize the efforts of individual contributors at our Hayden, Idaho, location,” said Chad Minden, director of operations for the company. “Lori, Shayne and Alvin each offer exceptional skills that help us drive our business forward. Their work exemplifies what we hoped to showcase with each of these award categories and the management team here congratulates each for their ongoing efforts.”

Each quarter employees can nominate a team member for one of the three awards. Management votes on the applicants and winners are announced and recognized at the next quarterly company-wide meeting.

Transtector Systems, in Hayden, specializes in the protection of highly sensitive, low voltage equipment through its patented, non-degrading silicon diode technology and custom filters. Its power quality expertise translates into a diverse product offering, including AC, DC and signal applications, as well as integrated cabinets, power distribution panels and EMP hardened devices.

Library in Post Falls welcomes new librarian/manager

Staff at the Community Library Network at Post Falls welcomed Jennifer Craft as the new Community Librarian and Manager. Craft, who started working for the District in late March, holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Washington, with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Idaho.

Craft isn’t far from Orofino, where her family moved in 1977, but she did take a circuitous route to get to Post Falls. While attending graduate school in Seattle, she worked at the Seattle Public Library, then moved on to Wake County Public Library in Raleigh, N.C., before spending the past 17 years as a Librarian/Library Manager for various branches of the New York Public Library in Manhattan.

Although she has worked and lived in big cities, she said Post Falls Library is just right for her.

“The hard-working and dedicated team at the Library has been so welcoming and warm. I am reminded daily of how vital and necessary libraries are in people’s lives, by seeing how appreciated the spaces, staff and programs are.” She is looking forward to becoming an integral part of the library family and community.

Former Librarian and Manager Rebecca Melton has moved into the position of Assistant Director for the District.
