Speakers outline tourism season at chamber event

Local tourism industry leaders will take a look back at the winter of 2017 and look forward to the busy summer season ahead during the spring Whitefish Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday, May 3 at Grouse Mountain Lodge.
The program titled “Tourism 2017” will feature Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow, Whitefish Mountain Resort CEO Dan Graves and Whitefish Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Dylan Boyle, as they review the winter ski season, then turn their attention to the upcoming summer season.
Representatives of the Big Mountain Commercial Association will also be on-hand with an update on plans for their summertime Glacier Express shuttle bus service between Whitefish and Glacier National Park. Now in its third year, 2017 is a “make or break” year for the Glacier Shuttle, which provides a much-needed service to Whitefish visitors and locals who wish to visit Glacier without adding to the summertime traffic congestion that has plagued the park in recent years.
The luncheon begins with registration and buffet lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. RSVPs are required; call the Chamber at 862-3501, or register on the Chamber’s website, www.WhitefishChamber.org.
