Kathryn Frances ‘Katy’ Zigler, 80

Kathryn Frances “Katy” Zigler, 80, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home on April 17, 2017.

Kathryn had a passion for traveling and camping and family. She wrote the newsletter for the Leisure Park community, where she resided, for many years. Over the years, with the help of friends and family, she accumulated a large collection of bears and various other wildlife.

Kathryn, the daughter of Floyd and Alma Marsh, was born in Sullivan, Ind., on Oct. 20, 1936. Both parents preceded her in death. Kathryn was a loving wife and mother who we will all truly miss.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Don Zigler and one of her sons, Gregg Smeltzer. She is survived by her sons, Paul Smeltzer of Hayden and Frank Smeltzer of Athol, Idaho; her daughter, Beth Stirn of Herberton, Australia; her brother, Ray Marsh of Lowell, Ind.; her sisters, Darlene Bradshaw and Betty Mann of Lowell; and her grandchildren, Jeff Kline of Post Falls, Idaho, Erin Smeltzer of Michigan City, Ind., and Whitney and Ashley Smeltzer of Walkerton, Ind.

Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. and funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, followed by burial at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
