M-A-C softball blows out opponents in weekend series

The Mission-Arlee-Charlo softball team continues to manufacture runs at an unprecedented rate, totaling 43 runs in the last three games.

M-A-C swept Drummond in the two-game series by a combined total of 40-6.

The Bulldogs won their first game of the contest, 11-6. Asia-Rain Umphrey belted a homer, Kenzie Couture had a triple, and Randee Charlo, Summer DarcAngelo, and Umphrey all had extra base hits in the victory.

Umphrey led the team with three RBIs, and M. Cartmill finished the game with two RBIs.

In the victory in the second game, the Lady Bulldogs got offensive production from several members of the team. DarcAngelo blasted a home run. Couture had a triple and was also one of three players that hit doubles, along with Charlo and Addision Arlint.

Couture also led the team with a total of six RBIs. Charlo and DarcAngelo had four, Frankie Smith had three, Umphrey, Arlint, Sierra Hutchins, and Reum each finished the game with one each.

Against Florence, M-A-C had a three-RBI first inning and it was answered by Florence in the top of the second. Florence scored three runs in two consecutive innings to eventually win the game, 9-4, Thursday afternoon at Mission High School.

DarcAngelo and Smith accounted for the runs for M-A-C. DarcAngelo finished with an RBI and Smith contributed with two RBIs in the loss.

Maidens drop three straight

The Ronan Maidens lost three consecutive games to Loyola Sacred-Heart in their recent series.

The Maidens hosted Loyola on Thursday afternoon and were swept by Loyola Secred-Heart.

LHS defeated Ronan in the first game of the series in wet conditions 16-4.

Though the Maidens were defeated 16-4, they were only outhit by the Lady Rams 7-6.

Madison Clairmont blasted a two-run home run in the loss.

Ronan proceeded to lose the second game 18-6.

Courtnee Clairmont, Sky Chandler, Jaylyn Hakes, and Marissa Mock all contributed in the losing effort with RBIs.

Ronan lost the next contest 16-4 to Florence Saturday at Ronan High School.

They were able to get solid hitting performances from Courtnee Clairmont, who finished the day 2-for-3 and Mock was 2-for-2. Clairmont also contributed with an RBI and Katlyn Santos led the Maidens with two RBIs on the day.
