EPHRATA — Ephrata knuckled down defensively and beat West Valley 12-3 in a non-league game.

Despite committing seven errors, the Tigers made plays when it mattered as West Valley left 10 runners on base.

Mikayla Wood went the distance from the circle, helping her own cause with three hits and one RBI.

Ephrata led 5-1 after two innings and broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning.

Kami Shannon drove in four runs and Aliyah Derr had a double with an RBI.

Ephrata travels to league-leader Ellensburg on Saturday.

Richland 4, Othello 0

OTHELLO — Othello hung with Class 4A Richland, but could not come up with enough offense in a 4-0 loss.

Nikki Martinez pitched a complete game and scattered six hits, striking out seven.

Mariah DeLeon was 2-for-3.

Othello travels to Prosser on Saturday.
