MATTAWA — Wahluke continues to play excellent defense, but the Warriors have been unable to generate much of an offense on the pitch and that has resulted in back-to-back losses in the last six days.
Both came by way of a shootout. Wahluke dropped a 1-nil match on the road at Connell April 18, and then were dealt a 2-1 home loss to Royal April 21.
The team was looking for a bounce-back win at Warden Monday and got just what the doctor ordered in a 6-1 shellacking of the Cougars on their home turf to stop the bleeding and remain in the thick of the postseason hunt.
The Warriors, now at 5-3 in conference play and 9-5 overall have moved into third place in the league standings with two games to go in the regular season
Wahluke finishes out at home against the Ki-Be Bears April 18 and the College Place Hawks May 2. The Top 4 teams in the SCAC East Conference qualify for the postseason.
