SANDPOINT — A Bonner County man reported missing turned up safe in Madison County on Sunday, Bonner County sheriff’s officials reported on Monday.
David A. Xanatos was reportedly last seen in the Clark Fork area on July 14 and became the subject of a missing persons investigation after he failed to turn up at work. A concerned friend reported him as missing.
Xanatos, 37, turned up in traffic stop.
“They confirmed that he was not a threat to himself or others and that was there on his own free will and volition,” Bonner County Undersheriff Ror Lakewold said on Monday.
Authorities in Madison County advised Xanatos of the missing persons report, although Xanatos apparently offered no explanation.
“It does not appear that there’s anything other than he just chose not to be here,” said Lakewold.
Lakewold said police asked if Xanatos would be returning to Bonner County.
“When I get around to it,” Xanatos reportedly said.
