Gladys (Garrison) Haines, 90
Gladys Gene Garrison, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at The Schneidmiller House (North Idaho Hospice House) in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Born on Nov. 10, 1926, in a small makeshift hospital in Troy, Mont., to Rosco and Selma Garrison, she was the second of six children.
She was raised in Troy, Mont., and Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She spent most of her life in North Idaho and Northwestern Montana, but she did also live in San Francisco, Calif., and Arizona for short times.
Gladys loved traveling and her journeys took her to places like Hawaii, Australia and the Panama Canal just to name a few. She enjoyed painting and bowling until she was no longer able, she then settled on her new hobby — going to the casinos. She most enjoyed spending time with friends and family, she would get really excited when they would come to visit her in her home. She will be remembered for her love of family and zest for life.
She is survived by her two sisters, Leota Limoges and Ida Templin; her son, Bill Garrison; daughter Cindy Ingram (Greg Ingram); grandson Jackson Garrison (Nicole Garrison); granddaughters Nikki Reynolds, Paula Andrews (Merritt Andrews) and Aimee Leighty (Dustin Leighty); seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son John Garrison; and husbands Jack Garrison (38 years), Emery Hedlund (two years) and George “Bud” Haines (four years).
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at the Rathdrum Senior Citizens Center, 8037 Montana St., Rathdrum, Idaho.
Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with care of final arrangements.
