HAZEL: Speaks for few

Christa seems to forget that the KCRCC represents all Republicans in Kootenai County, not just the moderates (“Reasonable Republicans”) she likes to hang out with.

Central Committee members are voted in by those in their precincts and therefore reflect concerns of the voters that elect them. Christa’s upcoming departure says she has no desire to represent those who elected her to her position on the KCRCC. Did those voters err in putting her into office?

Christa was certainly able to submit resolutions for issues she may have felt reflected the wishes of her constituents but I don’t recall her doing so. She also seems to forget that we have indeed had resolutions dealing with our county. The proposed transit center/bus stop in Riverstone immediately comes to mind.

While the Central Committee has discussed issues that don’t directly affect the voters of Kootenai County, those issues do reflect the sense of the Republican voters in our county and we want our elected representatives to know how we feel about issues, be they local, state or international.

Christa also seems to forget what the platform of the Idaho Republican Party has to say about Republican ideals, including smaller government, lower taxes and the right to life for all children. What is “radical” or “far right” about those issues (from a Republican standpoint?)
