Pettit named health care

association Employee of the Year

Tiffany Pettit, activities assistant for The Village at Orchard Ridge, was named Employee of the Year by the Idaho Health Care Association.

Pettit began working for the nonprofit senior living/memory care provider three years ago and was drawn to the residents suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia. She went on to receive special certification in dementia training and provides in-house training about dementia, CPR and first aid to Orchard Ridge’s staff.

“I feel very privileged to work for an organization whose mission is help our community age with dignity,” Pettit said. “The support I have received to pursue my passion has been overwhelming and I feel very blessed to work at The Village at Orchard Ridge.”

In addition, Pettit came up with the idea of providing employees’ children with school supplies in the fall as a way for the company to thank employees for their service. Singlehandedly, Pettit does this every year.

“It was an honor to see Tiffany receive recognition on a state level for her service in our facility,” said Holly Johnson, resident relations director. “She is a blessing to our residents, especially those dealing with dementia, their families and our staff. She works diligently to keep up with the needs of our ever-changing population and to train our staff on how to do so also. We are very proud of her work and her servant’s heart.”

The Village at Orchard Ridge is located at 624 W. Harrison Ave. Coeur d’Alene. The nonprofit senior living campus includes both independent and assisted living/memory care governed by 19 local churches.
