Mary Margaret ‘Margo’ Durham Peebles, 68

Margo Peebles, 68, passed away July 31, 2017. She was born in Colfax, Wash., to Bill and Hazel Durham. She grew up in Colfax and attended Colfax High School where she enjoyed sports and met many of her lifelong friends. She married Tim Peebles, her high school sweetheart, on June 14, 1969.

Margo worked at many different places through the years, including Coeur d’Alene High School and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. She was also a book keeper for several people who became dear friends. Since her retirement, Margo has been very dedicated to charity work, especially a group called Relatives As Parents. This group helps families that have children whose parents are not the primary caregiver. In 2006, Margo was awarded the Soroptimist Community Activist Award for her work with this group.

Margo loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, often hosting family get-togethers. She also enjoyed cross stitching, doing crafts, and absolutely loved watching Seahawk games. She was active in the Community United Methodist Church and also worked with the Giving Hope Foundation.

Margo is survived by her husband, Tim Peebles of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; son Jason Peebles of Hayden; daughter Dena Bray-McCormick of Phoenix, Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law Max and Jessica Peebles of Post Falls; sister and brother-in-law Vicki and Jeff Gordon of Pasco, Wash.; sister Susie Turner and Harvey Brown of Lewiston, Idaho; niece Traci Crawford of Spokane, Wash.; niece Tana Crawford of Pullman, Wash.; niece Katie Nelson of Pasco; nephew Patrick Turner of Lewiston; nephew Dennis Turner of Nampa, Idaho; and grandchildren Brad McCormick, Sydney Marie and Camren Margo Peebles, and Ben Salt; along with many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Community United Methodist Church, Idaho Youth Ranch, Newby-Ginnings, Relatives As Parents or Giving Hope in her memory.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at the Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d’Alene.
