PRIEST RIVER — A jogger was killed Thursday after she was struck by a logging truck on Dufort Road.
Idaho State Police said Jesse R. Flory was pulling a fully loaded trailer and was negotiating a left-hand curve in the road when he encountered a woman jogging in the roadway. Flory’s rig, a 1992 Kenworth tractor-trailer, overturned and a portion of it struck the jogger, who was not immediately identified.
The woman died at the scene and state police said Flory was not wearing a seatbelt, but state police did not specify if he was injured.
Dufor Road was effectively closed from shortly after 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. so state police could conduct investigation into the collision.
Idaho State Police said on Thursday that the investigation is ongoing, as is the identification of the jogger who was killed at the scene.
The assisting agencies were the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho Transportation Department.
The vehicle and clean-up were handled by Newport Towing, according to ISP.
