(Photo by MARY BERRYHILL) Robert Johnson of Dover, left, recently received a Quilt of Valor from local quilters Jeannie McMunn, Carolyn Inge and Kary Miller. Johnson served in the U.S. Army/Air Guard from 1943 to 1946. He has been an active member of the American Legion for 70 years. Robert is shown with his son, Jason Johnson, who also served in the U.S. military. The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans, who have been touched by war, with comfort and healing.
