6 injured in collision near Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE — A Kelso man’s failure to yield at an intersection on Saturday reportedly caused a two-vehicle collision that left six people injured.
About 5:55 p.m. Camilo Angulo-Aguilar, 49, of Kelso, was driving a 2000 Toyota pickup truck south on state Route 17, near Soap Lake, when he reportedly failed to stop at the SR-17/28 intersection. He collided with a 2010 Dodge Ram pickup truck with a utility trailer driven by a Marty Smith, 52, of Evans, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The Toyota came to a rest on its wheels off the road. The Dodge reportedly detached from the trailer and came to a rest on its top. The trailer came to a rest on its side to the south.
Angulo-Aguilar, and his passengers, Erasmo Jiminez-Ponce, 20, of Kelso, and Carlos Ponce-Ponce, 33, of Longview, were injured. Angulo-Aguilar and Jiminez-Ponce were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment. Ponce-Ponce was airlifted from the scene to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of serious injuries. Lynch and his passengers, Robert Glaser, 76, of Evans, and a 9-year-old girl, were injured and transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata for treatment.
The patrol reports Angulo-Aguilar was cited for failure to yield.
