Here’s one for some the IPA lovers out there.

What we have here is an drink that appeals to those enjoy a bit of a bitter beer, but not too much.

North Idaho Mountain Brewing’s (NIMB) Cripple Creek IPA (ABV: 7.0%, IBU: 70), humorously named after the brewery’s location over a creek and the affect it has on people when they have to many, it is the first IPA that NIMB ever created.

This flagship beer could be considered by die-hard IPA fans as more of a mild drink, but to those who are new to this type of beer or who enjoy just a minor hop taste, Cripple Creek will suit you just fine.

Brewed with magnum as the bittering hop, centennial and cascade for flavor, and dry hopped with amarillo as the aroma hop- this ‘beginner’ IPA presents a decent hoppy flavor with a crisp taste.

Any strong hop flavor that could overwhelm the drinker is mellowed out by a floral finish, making this beer favorable to a wider audience that a standard/ stronger IPA.

It won’t give you a bitter-beer face, but it will quench your thirst and leave you very satisfied.

With its slightly higher alcohol content though, make sure not to get too “crippled” by this one.
