Fun day with Mirror Lake Women's Golf

The Mirror Lake Women’s Golf Association held its annual “Margaritaville “Invite/Fun Day on July 12. There were 51 participants in this year’s event coming from Sandpoint, Rathdrum and Priest Lake, Idaho, Cheney, Wash., Libby, Mont., and Creston, B.C., Canada. Everyone had a great time enjoying the fabulous decorations and fun on-course games. There were some great prizes to be won for closest to the pin on No. 2, Longest Putt on hole No. 3, Longest Drive on hole No. 4, Most Accurate Drive on hole No. 6 and Closest Drive to the 150 marker on hole No. 7. In addition there were numerous terrific raffle prizes and gift baskets to be won.
The overall winner of this year’s event was Julie Williams with a gross score of 83. In second place was Yvonne Larson from Creston, B.C., with a score of 89. There were prizes awarded for each flight class and they were as follows:
Flight A
First Place: Louise Mikulak with a net score of 68
Second Place: Yvonne Larson with a net score of 69
Third place: Karen English with a net score of 69
Flight B
First Place: Kelly Kemle with a net score of 68
Second Place: Ada Gardiner with a net score of 68
Third Place: Stacey Lukac with a net score of 70
Flight C
First Place: Kathy Russo with a net score of 74
Second Place: Anne Bonar with a net score of 76
Third Place: Gail Bigelow with a net score of 79

The Longest Putt on hole No. 3 went to Linda Bogdan with a 55-foot putt. Alyssa Flynn had the longest drive on hole No. 4, Kelly Kemle had the closest to the pin shot on hole No. 2, Jane McGarty had the accuracy shot on hole No. 6 and Maureen Blackmore had the closest drive to the 150 marker on hole No. 7. Subsequent prizes were awarded to each winner for their respective event.
The golf event concluded with a wonderful lunch provided by Mirror Lake Golf Course.

The Mirror Lake Women’s Golf meets every Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. tee time and every Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. tee time. You can play either day or both. New members are always welcome so come out and join the fun.

BONNERS FERRY — This week the Mirror lake Women’s Golf game of the week was Pink Ball. Each member of the team had to play at least 2 holes using the pink ball and their score for that hole was also the teams score for that hole. The team with the lowest score of the cumulative holes using the pink ball was the winner.

We wrapped up the fifth week of play for the Mirror Lake Women’s Golf and it was Ace of the month. Julie Williams was the Ace on Tuesday evening with a net score of 39 and Linda Bogdan was the Ace for the Wednesday morning group with a net score of 30. Julie Williams had low gross score with a 42 on Tuesday evening and Therese Helmer had the low gross score for the Wednesday morning group with a score of 46. Therese Helmer and Linda Hiatt tied for the lowest number of putts with 14 each.

BONNERS FERRY — The Mirror Lake Women’s Golf week 6 game of the day was Most Drives off the Tee in the Fairway and Longest Drive on hole #6. In the Tuesday evening group Julie Williams had the longest drive and in the Wednesday morning group Karen English had the longest drive on hole #6. Karen English had low gross on Wednesday morning with a score of 50 for the A group and Anne Bonar had the low gross in the B group with a score of 63. Karen English had the low net for the A group with a 36 and Etta Mae Schnuerle had the low net in the B group with a 39. Karen English had the least number of putts with 14 and Ada Gardiner had a chip- in on hole #8.
