BONNERS FERRY — At the Boundary County Library this past weekend, Amy Maggi presented an educational speech on ocean reptiles and their unique traits, complete with hands-on materials to capture the audience of children and adults alike.

With a powerpoint presentation and a few animal specific informative videos, she taught onlookers about Sea Turtles, Iguanas, Sea Snakes, and Eels to name a few. There are two presentations a month, and the next one is on Aug. 18. There will be a guest speaker via the Hypercom system with the Toledo Zoo that will be showcasing lizards and reptiles in real face-time.

Onlookers will be able to ask questions and receive answers in live time with the zookeepers. There may even be a couple reptiles showcased in the library itself brought in from local reptile owners.

There are many more upcoming events in the library coming soon such as lego cub and nerf wars, among others.

For a calendar of events and more information, visit www.boundarycountylibrary.com, visit their Facebook page, call 208-267-3750, or walk in and visit them downtown Bonners Ferry at 6370 Kootenai St.
