Attempted bank robbery suspect sought

Detectives from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office have identified and interviewed the person of interest regarding the reported attempted robbery at U.S. Bank in Hayden, according to a news release sent out this afternoon.
The individual was cooperative with the investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
After being thoroughly interviewed, investigators and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office have determined that no charges will be filed in this case.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all of the citizens that provided information which assisted in bringing swift closure to this investigation.

A man accused of demanding money while pointing his hand in the shape of a gun at bank tellers in Hayden is being sought by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred Thursday shortly before 7 p.m. at the US Bank inside the Albertsons store in the Prairie Shopping Center at Prairie Avenue and U.S. 95.
Witnesses said that after a brief conversation, the man left the store without any money.
The suspect is described as in his 50s, wearing a green or grey T-shirt, khaki shorts, sandals with white socks and a camouflage hat. Witnesses said he has red messy hair and an unshaven beard.
He was last seen leaving the Albertsons parking lot in a late 90s to early 2000s silver/beige GM-type extended cab truck.
