There were 200 entries in this year’s Mineral County Fair exhibits, said fair board secretary Deb Davis-Quitt, which was 14 more than last year. Participants competed for blue, red and purple ribbons and also received $100 special premiums for outstanding entries. Special premium funds were donated from local businesses and individuals.

Blue ribbon winners received a prize of $1.50, red ribbons won $1.00 and third place and honorable mention won ribbons. Entries ranged from chickens and bunnies to flowers, vegetables, baked goods, art and photography. Judging was held on Thursday and Friday and exhibits were on display in the 4-H barns, the 4-H building and in the Junior High School.

Special premium winners this year included Drew Allard, Dennis Altoff, Lane DiGiando, Jolie Gatewood, Perri Jasper, Ramona Kane, Robert Lyons, Robin Sute, Abigail Wheeler, Dennis Yarnall and Mary Yarnall.
