Three clubs + one putter = fun!

Week 12 of the Mirror lake Women’s Golf the game of the day was 3 clubs and a putter. Each player had to choose 3 clubs from their set and their putter to play nine holes of golf.

Linda Bogdan had the low gross score of 53 and was the winner of the game of the day. Donna Irons came in second place with a gross score of 54. Carrie Figgins had the low net score of the day with a 28. Blanche Studer had a chip in on hole #2 and Etta Mae Schnuerle had the least number of putts with 15.

Week 13 of play was the end of the month so that is Ace of the month. In the Tuesday evening group Elaine Morgan was the Ace of the month with a net score of 39. In the Wednesday morning group Therese Helmer was the Ace of the month with a net score of 31. Gerry Ann Howlett had the low gross score with a 50 for the Tuesday evening group and Therese Helmer had the low gross score for the Wednesday morning group with a score of 43. Both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening groups played an additional game called “Blind Holes” in which a blind drawing of 4 of the 9 holes is done prior to the groups playing but, the players are not aware of what holes were drawn. At the conclusion of the 9 holes of play each player’s score is added up for the 4 “Blind Holes” drawn to determine the winner of the game. In the Tuesday evening group Blanche Studer was the winner with a score of 23 and in the Wednesday morning group Therese Helmer was the winner with a score of 18.

Week 14 the game of the day was “Most 1 Putts” and “Most Pars”. In the Tuesday evening group Gerry Ann Howlett was the winner of the “Most 1 Putts” with 4 and Julie Williams was the winner of the “Most Pars” with 5. In the Wednesday morning group Maureen Blackmore was the winner of the “Most 1 Putts” with 4 and it was a 4 way tie for the “Most Pars” with Blanche Studer, Karen English, Therese Helmer and Maureen Blackmore all having 1 par. Julie Williams had the low gross score of 41 and Gerry Ann Howlett had the low net score of 41.5 in the Tuesday evening group. In the Wednesday morning group Karen English, Ada Gardiner and Maureen Blackmore all tied with 54’s for low gross and Maureen Blackmore had low net with a score of 33.

Week 15 of play brought the “Dot Shots” game in which each player scores points for chip ins, drives in the fairway, 1 and 2 putts and shots out of the sand traps. In both Tuesday evening and on Wednesday morning Etta Mae Schnuerle was the winner with the most “Dot Shot” points. In the Tuesday evening group Gerry Ann Howlett had the low gross score of 43 and Etta Mae Schnuerle had the low net score of 41. In the Wednesday morning group Therese Helmer had the low gross score of 51 and Linda Rupley and Maureen Blackmore tied with the low net scores of 33. Anne Bonar had a chip in on hole #2 and Etta Mae Schnuerle had a chip in on hole #4. Therese Helmer and Etta Mae Schnuerle tied for low putts with 15 each.

The Mirror lake Women’s Golf meets every Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. tee time and every Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. tee time. You can play either day or both. New members are always welcome so come out and join the fun.

In week 19 of play the game of the day was “Mystery Hole”. One hole is randomly chosen to throw out each player’s score for that hole and totaling the remaining holes scores to come up with the winner. In the Wednesday morning group Karen English and Therese Helmer tied with a score of 41 to win the game of the day. In the Tuesday evening group Julie Williams had low gross with a score of 40 and Blanche Studer had low net with a score of 43. Julie Williams had the least number of putts with 15. In the Wednesday morning group Therese Helmer had the low gross score with a 47 and Karen English had the low net score with a 34. Karen English had the least number of putts with 14.

Mirror Lake Women's Golf Association

The Mirror Lake Women’s Golf wrapped up its season on Oct. 4 with their annual fun day of golf and awards dinner. Golf Pro Ralph Lotspeich laid out an “Impossible” course for the ladies to play on this day. The “Impossible” course proved to be very challenging; however, a good time was had by all who played.
