TRUCK: Dump the racism

Echos of the 1980s, Butler and the Aryan Nation: I recently witnessed a large dump truck coming from one of the new housing subdivisions in Post Falls. This large dump truck proudly displayed two large confederate flags on both rear sides.
No big deal, you say? It’s our First Amendment in action? Well, I agree. As much as I hate to admit it, everyone is entitled to make nincompoops out of themselves.
What greatly offended me was the large image of a coal black child with piggly wiggly hair eating a slice of watermelon, prominently displayed in vibrant color, between the flags on either side.
I have since learned that this company, “Dixie Services,” resides in the county outside our city limits.
This brings to mind a very expensive lesson I’ve learned. If you hire a contractor, ALWAYS, ALWAYS learn who they use as subcontractors. You could be unknowingly supporting this kind of behavior.
Is this the kind of thing we want for our children and community?
