Sandpoint Furniture honored by chamber

PONDERAY — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to extend congratulations to Sandpoint Furniture as the Chamber’s Business of the Month. The business was selected for its commitment to quality and support of community events.

Sandpoint Furniture was established in 1945 at 205 Cedar Street in Sandpoint and was one of the original members of the Sandpoint Chamber. In 1984, Mike Gunter, Dale Jeffres and Dwight Sheffler purchased the business.

They currently have 47 employees, including several children of the owners who they refer to as the “second generation,” who have been working for the family business for the last 15 years. They have combined Sandpoint Furniture, Carpet One and Selkirk Glass and Cabinets to make up the Ponderay Design Center — a full service shopping experience for home furnishings, mattresses, carpet, tile, laminate, custom kitchens, windows, doors, screen, glass showers and a full Hunter Douglas gallery for blinds and shades.

The owners of Sandpoint Furniture remain firmly committed to their community where they work, live and play.

Sandpoint Furniture supports many local causes, including the Celebrate Life Run/Walk to benefit Bonner General Health, Bonner County Fair and Rodeo, Lost in the ’50s, Bulldog Bench and Grad Nights for area high schools.
