A 22-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to three felonies for allegedly possessing heroin and methamphetamine.

Edward Jacob Reynolds is charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and in a separate case, criminal possession with intent to distribute and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

According to court documents, Kalispell Police Department responded to a suspected drug transaction at Best Bet Casino on U.S. 93 South on Jan. 22. Officers questioned Reynolds who allegedly produced an Altoids tin containing drug paraphernalia. During Reynolds subsequent arrest, a search yielded four baggies containing a dark, tar-like substance later confirmed to be heroin by the Montana State Crime lab. A fifth baggie that was also recovered contained a white crystalline substance that was later confirmed by the lab to be meth.

On March 6, Kalispell Police Department received a report of theft at Kalispell Center Mall where an officer spoke to a suspect later identified as Kassandra Lageson. Lageson was recently sentenced to three years in an Idaho prison for trafficking heroin. Reynolds was identified as the passenger in her vehicle. The officer reportedly saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and obtained a search warrant. During the search, the officer discovered a container holding what was later confirmed as heroin by the Montana State Crime lab.

A jury trial is set Jan. 16.
