Tickets on sale for 'Conversations with Exceptional Women'

Registration and ticket sales are underway for The Alturas Institute’s annual “Conversations with Exceptional Women,” Sept. 21 and 22, at the Community Library in Ketchum. Tickets for the two-day event, which includes lunches with guest speakers, as well as coffee and muffins, are $100. Scholarships are available. This year’s theme, “Uniting Women Across Generations,” features prominent nationally and internationally prominent female leaders from various sectors, including outer space, and award-winning participants from the worlds of Hollywood, journalism, law, academia, literature, and advocates of human rights, among others. Headliners include: Barbara Morgan, astronaut and teacher in space, expert on STEM education; Lynn Walsh, president, Society of Professional Journalists; Teresa Carlson, VP, Amazon Worldwide; Naomi McDougall-Jones, award-winning screenwriter, actor and producer; Patricia Velasquez, Venezuala-born super-model, award-winning actress, international human rights advocate; Kathleen Tarr, Award-winning Stanford professor, lawyer and vice-provost, film actress; Jeannette Schneider, VP Bank of America, author; Wendy Haines, documentarian, film actress; Joanne Freeman, award-winning Yale historian, national expert on Alexander Hamilton; Caroline Heldman, professor, author, national television commentator, international human rights advocate; Tami Longaberger, corporate CEO, international human rights advocate; Dominique Goncalves, doctoral student, Mozambique; Elizabeth Redleaf, corporate CEO, award-winning film producer; Christine Walker, award-winning film director and producer.
