RONAN — Ryggs Johnston easily captured medalist honors at the Ronan Invitational golf tournament on Thursday.

The Libby junior shot a 66 to finish nine shots ahead of the field.

Carson McDaniel of Polson, 75, was second with Matt Hobbs, also of Polson, third, 77.

Polson, 325, took the team title with Stevensville, 334, second, and Libby, 358, third.

In girls play, Ella Shaw was fourth, 97, and Gracie Young fifth, 101, to help the Whitefish girls to the team title, 415. The Libby girls, 450, were second.

Courtney Ockler of Frenchtown was the medalist with an 88.
