Food, toy drives in Moses Lake this weekend

MOSES LAKE — It is that time of the year for giving back and Columbia Basin residents have several opportunities to do just that this weekend by donating to toy and food drives.
The Unchained Brotherhood Motorcycle Club will be holding its annual Christmas toy drive in the Penhallurick’s True Value parking lot, 711 N. Stratford Rd., from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9. Club members will be accepting new and gently used toys and cash donations, which will be turned over to the Moses Lake Food Bank for redistribution.
Any donated monies will be used to purchase toys, which will be turned over to the Moses Lake Food Bank. Santa will also be present for pictures on one of the club’s Harley Davidson motorcycles. Unchained Brotherhood members have had past struggles with substance abuse and addiction and have taken from their families and communities. The motorcycle brotherhood gives club members the chance to make up for some of their past wrongs, according to a previous Columbia Basin Herald report.
The club has a mission to “provide an atmosphere of recovery and recreation for male bikers who choose not to fight drug addiction alone.”
The opportunity to give doesn’t stop there, as Ridin’ Dirty 4x4 Recovery will be holding its sixth annual food and clothing drive from 8-3 p.m. on Saturday at C&V Auto, 520 S. Pioneer Way. Volunteers will be collecting food and clothing, with all proceeds taken to the Moses Lake Food Bank and New Hope Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services.
