The National Monuments established in the U.S. since the time of Theodore Roosevelt have protected antiquities, Native American cultural sites, historical sites and natural environments that are rare and important. Now they are under threat — a Monumental Disaster in the making as the current administration is reducing at least 10 sites including the majestic Grand Staircase Escalante and the Native American cultural treasure, Bears Ears in Utah. I visit these wonders at least twice a year. They belong to me and to all of us. Save the National Monuments.
