LIBBY — Ryggs Johnston scored 24 points and the Libby Loggers rolled to a 70-56 victory in its season opener against Thompson Falls on Saturday.

Johnston was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, scoring 12 points in the second half to help the Loggers pull away. JJ Davis scored 17 points for Libby.

LIBBY — Shannon Reny had 13 points as the Loggers defense locked down Thompson Falls to start the season with a win.

Libby took a 14-point first quarter lead after holding the Blue Hawks to just four points in the first eight minutes. The Loggers defense allowed just one point in the third quarter as they pulled away.

Seven Libby players recorded points in the win.

Megan Baxter led Thompson Falls with six points.
