WENATCHEE — Manta Ray Aquatics sent 13 swimmers to compete at the Christmas Open Swim Meet in Wenatchee recently.

Marcus Quezada, 8, competing in his first meet, swam maximum events and tied for points leader for the Manta Rays. He also finished in second place in the 50 backstroke.

Aline Davis, the other points leader, had two second-place finishes in both the 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly and swam best times in five of her events. Her sister, Rebekah, dropped two seconds in her 50 breaststroke, finishing in fourth place. Rebekah Davis also competed in the grueling 200 breaststroke for the first time.

Sophie Butterly swam two best times, with an incredible seven-second cut in her 200 individual medley. Dallie Cobb, competing in just her second meet, posted a five-second drop in her 50 yard breaststroke.

Kathryn Duvall finished in first place in the 50 breaststroke and second in the 100 backstroke.

Melody Lake bettered her 100 free time by over six seconds and finished in third place in the 100 breaststroke.

Peyton Leeder also bettered her 100 free time by over three seconds and had a fifth-place finish in the 200 backstroke.

Sisters Addison and Aubree McBee both had great swims. Addison dropped an amazing 14 seconds in her 100 backstroke, and Aubree bettered her 50 backstroke time by over three seconds.

Jessica Williams had a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and finished fourth in the 100 free.

Not to be outdone by the girls, Matthew Cramer swam all best times, with an unbeatable 43-second drop in his 200 individual medley.

Garrett Lake had three great swims, finishing second in the 100 free and third in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley.
