Cardinals fall in San Jose opener

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Tyler Brimhall scored a team-high 16 points for North Idaho College, but Elijah Nesbit scored a game-high 19 points to lead Monterey Peninsula past the Cardinals 85-71 in the opening day of the San Jose City College tournament on Thursday afternoon.
RayQuan Evans, who was named Northwest Athletic Conference East Region Player of the Week, finished with 14 points for NIC (3-2), which faces the Community College of San Francisco today at 4.
