Two people were transported to the hospital after their pickup went off an embankment west of Whitefish Friday afternoon.
The driver of a white 2007 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling northbound on U.S. 93 near the Stillwater Fish House when for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed over the double-yellow line into the southbound lane before going off the road, according to Montana Highway Patrol. The pickup went into an embankment, struck boulders and rolled over onto its side, said Trooper Andrew Horton.
Traffic was directed as emergency personnel responded to the scene about 2 p.m. Friday.
The pickup’s driver, a 58-year-old male, and the passenger, a 19-year-old woman, were transported to North Valley Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to Horton.
The incident is under investigation by the highway patrol.
