SAN JOSE, Calif. — Terrell Brown, who played at San Jose State as a freshman last year before transferring, scored 28 points as City College of San Francisco beat North Idaho College 84-69 on Friday at the San Jose City College tournament.

RayQuan Evans scored 20 points for NIC (3-3), which outrebounded San Francisco 42-34, but was outscored 46-32 in the second half.

“We played really well for 36 minutes, but just had a four-minute stretch where we turned the ball over and they got out on a run,” NIC coach Corey Symons said. “San Francisco, they’re one of the top programs in California, and they get up on you on defense and pressure you. We handled the pressure well, but just turned the ball over too many times.”

San Francisco shot 16 of 33 from beyond the 3-point line, compared to 6 of 16 for NIC.

Jarod Greene and Aushanti Potts-Woods scored 11 points each for NIC, which faces tournament host San Jose City College today at 5 p.m.
