Linda Lee Bakeberg, 79, died peacefully at home near Seattle, Washington, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017.

Born May 25, 1938, in Garrison, North Dakota, to Herbert and Frances Callies. Linda grew up in Whitefish, and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1956.

She lived in Seattle, Washington, and Anchorage, Alaska, before finally moving back permanently to the Seattle area. Linda was a crossword puzzle enthusiast who loved literature and music of all kinds. Reading was her passion; she was rarely without a book close at hand.

Survivors include her daughters Mary Carson of Everett, Washington, Julie Ferris (Mark) of Issaquah, Washington; grandchildren Michael Kelly and Nichole Carson; sister, Janet (Phil) Card of Glen Allen, Virginia; brother, Tom (Arlene) Callies of Whitefish; nieces Susie, Shawna, Meghann and nephew Philip; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexi and Zoie.

A private family memorial will be held in Whitefish in the spring.
