Louden, Morton pace Viks vs. Moscow

COEUR d’ALENE — Rey Louden had 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals as the Coeur d’Alene Vikings knocked off the Moscow Bears 57-45 in nonleague play Tuesday night at Elmer Jordan Court.

Kiah Morton added 15 points, Halle Kane four assists for Coeur d’Alene (2-3), which opened up a lead in the third quarter helped by its full-court press.

“We’re full-court pressing, and that seems to get our girls going,” Coeur d’Alene assistant coach Nicole Symons said. “We really played hard tonight.”

Gracey Meyer scored a game-high 24 points for Moscow.

Coeur d’Alene opens 5A IEL play Friday at Lewiston.

COEUR d’ALENE — Brooklyn Rewers, Payton Barber and Chloe Teets scored nine points each as the Timberwolves beat the Blackhawks in a nonleague game.

“I was very pleased with our balance tonight,” Lake City coach James Anderson said. “We had to have some other players step up due to foul trouble, and the girls got it done.”

Lake City outscored Cheney 14-8 in the third quarter to pull away.

Dejah Wilson had seven points, three steals, seven rebounds and four assists and Barber had three assists and three 3-pointers for Lake City (6-3), which hosts Lewis and Clark on Friday.

Shelby Draper scored 12 points for Cheney (2-2).

PLUMMER — Tommia Pakootas had 12 points and eight rebounds, leading the Knights past the Warriors in a North Star League game at Ron Miller Court.

Suzzana Pakootas scored 11 points and Alyssa SiJohn had six points and five assists for Lakeside (8-3, 4-0 NSL), which is off until the Wellpinit tournament on Dec. 22-23.

“I thought we played some really good defense tonight,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. “We really didn’t give them anything easy, and we shot the ball really well tonight. Suzzana might have had her best game of the year and we played a great game overall as a team.”

Courtney Lamb scored nine points for Kootenai (2-4, 0-3), which travels to Troy on Friday.
