Grinch swipes gifts from Post Falls home

POST FALLS — The Grinch targeted a Post Falls home on Tuesday, stealing "numerous" wrapped Christmas presents with a total estimated value of $700, according to police.
The female victim in the Highlands neighborhood told a Post Falls Police officer that she believes someone entered the unlocked home between 7:20 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. and stole the presents from the dining room table.
The presents consisted of toys, boots and other items.
The garage of the home is under construction, so there are no garage doors and the driveway is torn out, the police report states.
"(That situation) may have created the appearance the residence was not being lived in, which perhaps contributed to it being targeted," the report states. "Point of entry was likely the front door, which she did not lock."
The woman said she noticed all of the presents were gone when she returned to the home. She had planned to mail the presents the next day, according to police.
The Press reached out to the victim, but she declined comment.
