NET: Government isn't neutral
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 years, 4 months AGO
When you hear the words ”net neutrality” and FCC it almost sounds fair. So why would you not be in favor of it or why against it?
If you’re old enough, do you remember the words “lock box” when it comes to your Social Security money? How did that work out?
In 1995 the FDA gave its approval for oxycodone for chronic pain. Think we have an opioid crisis in the U.S. Strange how many of our top FDA officials now work for the top drug companies, a coincidence I am sure?
How about the welfare program to help people temporarily get on their feet when they fall on hard times?
My favorite, government student loans. This is where you loan hundreds of thousands of dollars to someone who has never had a job, no credit history and no time limit to pay the loan off.
These are just four examples of why I am scared of the FCC getting involved in “net neutrality.” The FCC is another government bureaucracy appointed by whichever party is in control at the time. Our government looking out for us little people.
When I read the pros and cons to net neutrality it is confusing. What unconfuses me real fast is when the government is going to be involved.
